The Salt Lakes of South Australia
For the Summer 08/09 catalogue, we had a new idea. We wanted to show people how to live slow, and visually represent what slow-living might look like. With the aid of six talented people, we began a journey to Adelaide. From there a large car drove six hours north to a salt lake not far from Iron Knob. The picturesque landscape was the perfect backdrop for our slow-living assignment.

Since 2005, we at Mesop have been creating a range of women's wear basics made exclusively in Melbourne, Australia.
Just like the beginnings of an outfit, Mesop values simple origins. That's where the name Mesop comes from - the birthplace of human civilisation, Mesopotamia.
We believe in the simplicity of an uncomplicated wardrobe and the beauty of having a favourite basic. We also embrace a philosophy of slow-living - a concept we would like to share.
Being slow is about letting everything become nothing. Slowing down how you think, the amount of things you do, and the way you experience the world. It's about reading a book, listening to music, or simply staring up at the clouds and letting your mind wander.
Just like living slow, Mesop is about feeling good, and feeling good about looking good. It's about appreciating simplicity and respecting quality over quantity.
These days finding clothes that are truly Australian-made is hard, but at Mesop, staying local is important. We make everything exclusively in Melbourne. Not just sewn - but developed, knitted and made as well. Buying local is a large part of the slow-living ethos. Embracing our surroundings and taking a moment to look around us.
